TAUNTON, MASSACHUSETTS – [November 20, 2025] – Mechanics Cooperative Bank is proud to announce its support of critical public-safety infrastructure upgrades for the Town of Dighton, funding the full installation of new microwave communication equipment designed to strengthen emergency communication capabilities across the community.

The upgraded microwave system installed by Modular Communications delivers a faster, more reliable, and more resilient communication link between key municipal buildings and emergency response teams. Microwave communication technology uses secure, high-frequency radio waves to transmit data and voice signals between fixed points, helping ensure continuity even during severe weather, power outages, or widespread network disruptions.

For the Town of Dighton, these enhancements strengthen emergency response reliability, support communication between police, fire, and public works, improve interdepartmental coordination, and boost the Town’s overall public safety and reliability of operations.

“Supporting the long-term safety and wellbeing of the communities we serve is part of our responsibility as a local bank,” said Joseph T. Baptista Jr., President & CEO of Mechanics Cooperative Bank. “Reliable communication infrastructure is vital for effective emergency response, and we’re proud to assist the Town of Dighton in strengthening these capabilities. This project reflects our continued commitment to the municipalities and residents who rely on these essential services.”

This contribution aligns with the Bank’s continued support of local communities and the essential services they rely on.

On behalf of the Town of Dighton, we are incredibly grateful for Mechanics Cooperative Bank’s support,” said Town Administrator, Ralph Vitacco. “This investment directly enhances our ability to respond to and protect our community.

Mechanics Cooperative Bank remains committed to supporting communities across the region and the essential services they rely on.
